In the June 2022 edition, the article “Street Smart”,  OOH talk about the growth of the street food movement, which over the last ten years has gone from strength to strength. Stating that there’s never been a better time to tap into the street food opportunity, the sector is estimated to be worth approximately £1.2bn.

Despite the pandemic impacting so many sectors, the hospitality sector stepped up and flexed to meet the demand of consumers, literally hungry for food of all styles!

At Unconventional we believe that a brilliant burger is the original street food hero, flexible and customisable, the important thing is to make sure the burger is the best quality. This was a major influence when we created the Unconventional Burger, which has gone on to be named as the number one Burger in Europe. Whether people are following a vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian diet, the quality of the burger is essential, after all everyone wants to enjoy a juicy and tasty burger. But, street food is so much more than burgers.

In the article, Steve Wickham, Commercial Director at Unconventional is quoted as saying, “Consumer feedback has shown that the demand for quality plant based meat alternatives isn’t just for restaurants. The Unconventional Hot Dog Style Sausage provides operators with an opportunity to deliver a tasty meat alternative as part of their street food offering. Hot Dog Style Sausages can be loaded with all the flavours and garnishes for the ultimate wow factor, while also satisfying the  lifestyle choices that consumers are looking for with meat alternatives.”
